Curriculum focus
In the Australian Curriculum, this learning resource has a variety of student activities for Foundation – Year 4 in Science, Technologies, English and Health & PE. Cross-curriculum priorities of Sustainability and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures are also covered.
The activities are also suitable for teachers and students in early childhood and care settings such as long day care services, preschools, kindergartens, and outside school hour care services (OSHS).
The pages in this resource are intended as starting points for a cross-curricular approach to learning, based on the George the Farmer YouTube video “The Farm Safety Song”. In what ways are the kids in the video being unsafe? Discuss the do's and don'ts with your students.
George’s music can be found on Spotify or Apple Music.
The activities seek to complement and extend the enjoyment students will experience from watching the video, whilst at the same time meeting some of the requirements of curriculum outcomes.
The activities in this resource can be printed out for students, or alternatively, display the activity page from the PDF on your interactive whiteboard or import an activity page into your online teaching and learning environment such as Google Slides and have the students use their existing workbooks to complete the task.
